Pali LTRG and Palisades American Legion Post 283 invite the Palisades community to join a special morning of observance to mark one year since the January 7 Palisades Fire.
The “White Glove Flag Presentation and Remembrance Ceremony” will bring together community members, civic leaders, and recovery partners in remembrance, gratitude, and unity. The program will commemorate the twelve Palisadians who lost their lives and pay tribute to the countless individuals and groups who are helping the community recover and rebuild.
- 8am – Coffee & Breakfast Public Gathering – American Legion Post 283
- 9-10am – Remembrance and Tribute Program (9:00–10:00 a.m.): White glove presentation of flags and certificates to leading rescue and recovery participants. Special invocation and accompanying music by the Palisades symphony. This segment is a private event for families of those lost and invited guests. However, the program will be streamed immediately outside Post 283 on La Cruz Drive, where members of the public are warmly invited to gather and view the ceremony together.
- 10-10:20am Dedication of the American Legion Post 283 “survivor flag” flown during the fire to be preserved. Retirement of Palisades Post Office flag and raising of replacement flag. Accompanying bugler.
- 10:20am Color guard and procession to the Village Green located on Sunset Blvd., and featuring representatives from the American Legion, the Army National Guard, U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, and select relief organizations. Accompanying bagpipers.
- 10:30-11am Ringing of the bells, wreath presentations, and moment of remembrance on the Village Green honoring those lost.
- 11:15-1pm Community Lunch at Palisades American Post 283
