PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Los Angeles County sued Southern California Edison and Edison International to recover costs and damages from the Eaton fire, alleging the utility's transmission equipment in Eaton Canyon caused the blaze that destroyed more than 9,400 structures and killed 17 people in Altadena.
The county sought recovery for destroyed parks, trails, roads, cleanup, flood prevention and lost taxes. Pasadena and Sierra Madre filed parallel suits.
