PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Roughly 3,000 Palisades Charter High students returned to their own campus on January 27, 2026, a year after the fire destroyed about 40% of school buildings, having spent the interim in a converted Sears building in Santa Monica.
Students occupy the roughly 70% of campus that was smoke-damaged but not destroyed, plus 36 modular classrooms on the baseball field. Permanent reconstruction targets late 2028.
