CalAssist Mortgage Fund opens with $20,000 grants for destroyed homes

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — California launched the $105 million CalAssist Mortgage Fund, providing up to $20,000 per household to homeowners whose homes were destroyed or made uninhabitable by declared disasters including the Palisades and Eaton fires.

The grants do not need to be repaid, cost nothing to apply for, and are paid directly to the mortgage servicer. Applications opened June 12 at CalAssistMortgageFund.org.
