County creates the Disaster Recovery Rebuild Authority

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on May 19, 2026 to establish the Los Angeles County Disaster Recovery Rebuild Authority as the county's unified coordinating body for disaster recovery, operationalized within Public Works and staffed initially with 13 full-time positions.

Altadena alone faces more than $2 billion in public infrastructure restoration costs.
