PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — The Palisades Reconstructionist congregation Kehillat Israel returned to its Sunset Boulevard sanctuary roughly 16 months after the fire, one of the first religious institutions to come back to Pacific Palisades.
Two hundred fifty member families lost their homes entirely and another 250 were temporarily displaced; nearly 900 families now gather back in the building.
