PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Twenty days after ignition, mandatory evacuation orders were lifted and resident-only access was permitted into previously closed areas of the Palisades.
Access remained restricted to residents, first responders and cleanup crews, with a heavy security presence at entry points that persisted for months. This was the first opportunity most homeowners had to see their lots.
