PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — A public-private partnership among the City of Los Angeles, Steadfast LA and LA Strong Sports broke ground in January 2026 on a full rebuild of the Palisades Recreation Center, severely damaged in the fire.
The project is budgeted at $45 to $50 million and expected to take 15 to 18 months, adding a new playground, tennis courts and interim library services. The permanent Palisades Branch Library remains years out, with design work not finishing until December 2027.
