PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Governor Newsom convened LA Rises, a public-private recovery initiative led by Dodgers chairman Mark Walter, Earvin 'Magic' Johnson and LA28 president Casey Wasserman, with an initial $100 million pledged.

The group went on to fund permitting technology and rebuilding support alongside Steadfast LA. Survivors encounter LA Rises mainly through the free tools and grant programs it underwrites rather than through direct payments.
