PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — By April 2026, more than 2,600 residential permits had been issued across the Palisades and Altadena — roughly one for every five of the nearly 13,000 homes lost — with another 3,300-plus applications under review.
Nearly 400 homes were actively under construction in the Palisades alone, with plans approved for about 750 addresses, and the city was issuing single-family permits roughly three times faster than its pre-fire five-year average.
