Official Kick-Off Event Scheduled for August 8 at Palisades American Legion Post 283

In response to the ongoing challenges facing survivors of the devastating 2025 Palisades Fire, members of the Pacific Palisades community have formed a local Palisades Long Term Recovery Group (Pali LTRG) dedicated to identifying and connecting local survivors to a network of associated donor relief organizations.
Community members, fire survivors, and press are invited to attend this launch event, featuring remarks from Pali LTRG leadership, local government officials, and representatives from major donor organizations. The event will highlight the group’s mission, introduce key programs, and provide survivors with paths to get the recovery help they need.
“The Palisades LTRG comes at a critical moment in our continued recovery,” said Jim Cragg, Pali LTRG President & Board Chair. “These major relief organizations have turned to our group to help identify and vet over 10,000 Palisades families in need of money, manpower, materials, and information to get their lives back. Palisadians are relying on us.”
Pali LTRG: Local Leaders Connecting Neighbors in Need to Help and Hope
The mission of Pali LTRG is to provide comprehensive recovery services to individuals and households impacted by the Palisades Fire, ensuring every resident—regardless of circumstance—has continued, and equitable access to the resources and support needed to rebuild. Formed by local community leaders and supported by the National Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NVOAD), Pali LTRG brings national expertise and over 50 years of proven disaster recovery practices directly to the Pacific Palisades.
Building on the success of the American Legion’s Palisades Wildfire Community Support Center and the Multi-Agency Resource Center (MARC)—which assisted over 1,600 families in just five days—Pali LTRG is now guiding the transition to long-term recovery (Phase 3). The locally-led group will connect survivors with resources, provide Disaster Case Management, and convene major recovery partners at a unique ‘donor table’ to ensure help arrives where it’s needed most.
Among those Pali LTRG seeks to serve are seniors, special needs families, and under- or uninsured homeowners for whom disaster recovery is particularly daunting. With a network spanning local organizations (Pali Strong, PPRA, PPCC), faith groups, volunteers, and government agencies, Pali LTRG offers targeted, coordinated support unique in both scale and compassion.
