PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara issued Bulletin 2025-1, a mandatory one-year moratorium barring insurers from cancelling or non-renewing residential policies in and adjacent to the Palisades, Eaton, Hurst, Lidia, Sunset and Woodley fire ZIP codes.
The protection applied whether or not a home suffered direct damage, and ran through January 7, 2026. Homeowners who received a non-renewal notice during that window should check whether their ZIP code was covered.
