PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Reporting on the county's expanded testing program found hundreds of standing homes in and downwind of the Eaton burn scar still showing soil lead above health thresholds, months after debris removal ended.
Because federal cleanup did not include soil remediation on most parcels, owners of intact Altadena homes should get their own soil tested before replanting or letting children play in yards.
